What is a part-time carnivore?
Anyone who typically has fewer than 7 meaty-days each week can call themselves a part-time carnivore.
What counts as a meaty day?
If you eat any meat, poultry or fish; it’s a meaty day.
Why does fish count as meat?
Because it’s an animal! From an environmental perspective, we’re eating too much fish. The oceans are overfished and fish farming comes with pollution and resource consumption problems, just like all intensive animal farming.
What about dairy?
Having too much dairy has many of the same problems as too much meat. Cheese often has a bigger environmental footprint than chicken. Being a part-time carnivore isn’t about dairy, but it makes sense to enjoy it in moderation.
Can vegetarians and vegans sign up?
Yes. It might be a bit odd to call yourself a part-time carnivore, but you are welcome to choose 0 meaty days and join our meat-reducing movement.
Who is behind Part-Time Carnivore?
